Additional analysis options for productive SAP® systems with RBE Plus from IBIS Prof. Thome AG

Würzburg/Walldorf. Gerhard Oswald, board member of SAP AG, and Prof. Dr. Rainer Thome, chairman of the supervisory board of IBIS Prof. Thome AG, have agreed to expand the Reverse Business Engineers (RBE™) developed jointly by SAP and IBIS Prof. Thome since 1998 as part of their long-term research and development cooperation. IBIS Prof. Thome can provide SAP users with enhanced RBE content in the form of new rules and associated services as well as new evaluation components through RBE Plus™ and RBE Process Analysis.

With the Reverse Business Engineer and the extensive additional content of RBE Plus from IBIS Prof. Thome AG, it is possible to analyze productive SAP systems (since SAP R/3® version 3.0f) based on business management principles. Transaction usage, extensions, customizing, master, and process data can be identified and evaluated.

Compared to the release of RBE 2.0 in 2001, IBIS has particularly advanced the content development of so-called RBE review steps. The knowledge base has been expanded from about 300 to currently over 12,000 table review steps for the mySAP™ Business Suite, making beneficial use in a variety of application cases possible (RBE Plus service scope according to SAP components, see: www.ibis-thome.de/rbeplus).

In addition to the classic scenarios of "post-documentation" and "situation analysis," the extensions also enable more sophisticated analyses for "consolidation of system landscapes," "review of target concepts," or "process improvement."

Together with SAP Consulting Germany, a tailored RBE analysis package for release change support has also been developed (Quick Upgrade Evaluation).

From the broad project application of RBE Plus, many new evaluations have also emerged due to customer requirements. IBIS offers many additional valuable studies ranging from extensive basic analyses to role and process analyses and special topics, which cover requirements from the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The RBE Plus results can also be made available in the SAP Solution Manager.

Through a scalable RBE Plus service offering, immediate availability – without onboarding or tool installation – is also possible for every SAP responsible person and their project requirements.
